Treat yourself to an exquisite experience at Loughcrew Estate

The House and Gardens within at Loughcrew Estate date back to the 17th century – making it a landscape of historical and religious significance. Here, you’ll find a medieval motte and St. Oliver Plunkett’s family church among other old buildings. You’ll also find lime and yew avenues, extensive lawns and terraces, a water garden and a magnificent herbaceous border. There is a Fairy Trail for children and a coffee shop too!

Louchrew Estate is a 1 hour from Dublin and is located below the, Neolithic cairn topped, Loughcrew Hills and close to the Boyne Valley.

If you are in the area make sure not to miss the deep history overlooking the county. The passage tombs are recorded to be almost as old as the Pyramids. For those interested in history or just looking for the best viewpoint to see most of Ireland's landmass, the cairns are not to be missed.

Loughcrew or Lough Crew (Irish: Loch Craobh, meaning 'lake of the tree') is an area of historical importance near OldcastleCounty MeathIreland. It is home to a group of ancient tombs from the 4th millennium BC, some decorated with rare megalithic art, which sit on top of a range of hills. The hills and tombs are together known as Slieve na Calliagh and are the highest point in Meath. It is one of the four main passage tomb cemeteries in Ireland and is a protected National Monument. The area is also home to the Loughcrew Estate, from which it is named.
